It’s reasonable to be skeptical about manifesting, and that you could manifest your desires seems even more far-reaching. But manifesting is as logical as setting a goal and then going after it. In fact, the common practice of visualizing that many pro athletes use to improve their performance is a form of manifesting.
So, to help remove your skepticism before we dig into how you can manifest, let’s talk about what manifesting is and how it works.

Manifesting is based on the quantum theory that the universe is made of energy, and your mind is a powerful tool to create what you desire. Manifesting entails changing your negative, limiting beliefs into positive thoughts, enabling you to start taking action on your positive ideas.

You first need to determine what you want to manifest.
Then, you need to release any limiting beliefs around this goal so you can focus and get into the feeling of already having what you want. You must be committed to visualizing this desire daily and dedicated to making it happen.

- Release limiting beliefs about that which you desire to manifest.
- Get into the feeling of already having what you want.

How Positive Energy Helps with Your Manifesting
Everyone sees the world through a pair of personal lenses, whether they wear physical glasses or not.
Two people can view the same circumstance differently because of their perception.
When you engage positive energy during manifesting, you feel good. Based on the law of attraction, you are signalling to the universe that you want more positive energy in your life.
The universe and your mind work in pictures and energy.
The same happens if you see the world through a negative lens. More negative feelings tend to follow you around it. It is like telling the universe you want more negative energy in your life.
Why Releasing Limiting Beliefs Is Critical to Manifesting
Releasing limiting beliefs is critical because these limiting beliefs impede you from living your most desired life!
Looking within and acknowledging these limiting beliefs is difficult for many because it is easier to “pretend” you don’t have any limiting beliefs.
However, you must be honest and shine a bright light into your blind spots. Think of holding a flashlight and illuminating every corner that might contain a limiting belief.
Remind yourself that without shedding light on these limiting beliefs, you are literally going through life with blinders on.
Attract Positive Outcomes and Watch Out for Negative Thoughts and Blocks
You can attract positive outcomes by first committing to looking within and releasing the negative beliefs holding you back.
I had a “negative” friend who used to say that they didn’t want to see the world as “rosy and wonderful.”
They thought positive thinking was flaky, and they were logical.
If you try, you can find positivity in almost every situation because, as humans, we are here to grow and learn. There is always something to learn, no matter how challenging the circumstances.
It is logical to be curious and look for opportunities and understanding. So, be curious if you can see a negative situation another way while remembering everything is in perception.

We are in a society of instant gratification and want the fastest and most powerful tool.
The most powerful technique is the one that you can do easily and regularly.
You want manifesting to feel natural, so you are consistent and committed. It is okay to try a few different techniques initially and then do what works. Remember, the technique won’t matter if you aren’t crystal clear about what you want and if you don’t take action.
10 Simple Steps to Manifest Anything You Want
1. Quiet your mind.
DAYS 1-7 | 5 minutes for 7 days
To manifest, you must first quiet your busy mind and listen to your desires. Sit quietly, allowing yourself to dream and create what you want in your mind. Do this for five minutes per day for 7 days.
2. Write down what you want to manifest.
DAYS 1-7 | 5 minutes for 7 days
After sitting each day and focusing on what you want:
- Write down your desires.
- Don’t worry whether it is logical; we will target this later.
- Allow yourself to be expansive and creative, and allow it to be unique to you.
Repeat this for six more days.
3. Go back and highlight your strongest desires of what you want to manifest.
DAY 8 | 5 minutes for 1 day
After eight days of this practice:
- Spend 5 minutes quieting your mind and then open your journal.
- Circle or highlight the most important things you want to manifest.
- Simply choose what comes to mind, close your book, and continue your day.
4. Write out on a clean page all the highlighted desires
DAY 9 | 5 minutes for 1 day
Take a fresh page in your notebook and copy all the desires you highlighted the day before.
Each time you write them, allow your mind to feel how it would be to have these in your life. Be aware of which desires came up several times, and then choose your top three from this summary page. You will now close the book and go about your day.
5. Reflect on your top beliefs. What are your negative feelings about them?
DAY 10-13
This stage may take one day or several, and it is crucial.
Write your top three desires from the day before. Put each on a separate piece of paper. Underneath each desire of what you want to manifest, write in bullet points any negative thoughts that come to mind if you achieve this or pursue this.
EXAMPLE:
Desire: To get a promotion.
Negative Thoughts: I am not smart enough, I won’t have enough time to be at home, I will be stressed, who do I think I am, I am not qualified to do this, what will my family, friends, partner think?
These negative thoughts are specific to you, and the more honest you can be, the more effective your manifesting of this desire will be. You must confront these beliefs because they hold you back from the life you want.
Key Point: While it is essential to uncover these limiting beliefs, we also don’t want to start our day on a negative note. When you finish this exercise, write down three things you are grateful for. These can be unrelated and just what comes to mind, such as I am grateful for my home or health. This is because it sets the tone for your day.
6. Choose one of the top 3 desires that will be your focus for the next month and question whether the negative thoughts you wrote are 100% true.

Choose one of the top three desires to focus on for the next month.
Once you have chosen one, look at your negative thoughts about this desire. Question whether your negative thoughts are 100% true, and be curious if you could look at them another way.
Using the previous example, is it 100% true that you will be stressed out if you take on a promotion?
Are there people you know who are in this role and are balanced?
Could it also be true that you might be less stressed out because you would be doing something you enjoy?
While it would be busy right after getting the promotion as it is a change, will it give you more freedom in the future?
Can you choose to look at this differently?
7. Continuing with your Number 1 desire and repeat the process of questioning each day.
1 Month | Throughout the Day
Focusing on your number one desire, repeat the process of questioning whether the other negative thoughts you identified are true, and be curious if you can look at them another way. Then, throughout your day, think of ways this negative thought isn’t true.
8. Look for a positive example.
Every day, I want you to look for positive examples that directly explain why your negative thoughts are not valid. Do this for all the limiting beliefs you highlighted in relation to your most dominant desire. You are training your subconscious mind that you can have this desire and be happy.
9. Now, you are ready for what you want to manifest.
You may think this is too much work.
You might think, “I want to do a vision board of what I want to desire and start manifesting.”
However, if you don’t start by cleaning up your negative beliefs linked to this desire, it is one step forward and two steps back. Some people complain manifesting doesn’t work for them.
But what is actually happening is they haven’t released their limiting beliefs.
If you don’t believe something is possible or believe deeply that what you desire is wrong, you won’t bring it into your life.
What you believe to be true will be your truth. If you think you don’t deserve something, then your subconscious focuses on not deserving it.
If you think you don’t deserve something, then your subconscious focuses on not deserving it.
10. Take action.
While manifesting your dreams sounds like magic, you must act on your desires.
The good news is that if you have followed the above steps, you have taken action. You have actively worked on cleaning out your negative beliefs, woken up what you desire, and are ready to see the opportunities. By changing your mindset and believing you deserve what you desire, you naturally take steps because you can see it happening.
Why Deciding and Focusing on Your Manifestation Goals Is Important
Imagine your life is like a road trip where friends, family, and colleagues can come in and out of your car at different times.
You will also have some unexpected stops (circumstances) because a road, much like life, is not a straight line. If you don’t decide on what you want and laser-focus on it, then your chances of reaching your desired destination are low.
You are likelier to take a side route following a pre-programmed destination or someone else’s plan.
Or worse, you may get stuck at the side of the road where years go by and then think, “Frigg, why am I still here? What happened?”
If you just read this and your heart drops because you feel this now, know you aren’t alone, and it isn’t too late. Knowing this can make you more committed to making the changes now.
Get your notebook and write out what you want.
Be committed and hold yourself accountable by checking in with yourself on your progress. It may seem like baby steps at first, but even a slight shift will result in a significant change in the long term. Think of a small fork in the road, which results in vastly different destinations.
Releasing Negative Energy Helps with Your Manifesting
Think of negative energy as an albatross around your neck, holding you back every step you take. By releasing this energy, you feel lighter and can take steps towards your dreams.
Applying Positive Thinking to Improve Manifesting Outcomes
A positive growth mindset helps you now and in the future. Numerous studies have shown that having a positive mindset improves happiness and your life. It has also been demonstrated to improve your immune system and your risk of stroke and brain tumours.

A vision board is a clear picture of what you want to have in your life. You can create a physical vision board, or you can create a digital vision board. Either will work just fine. Just make sure you release those limiting beliefs as well!
How to Create an Effective Vision Board
Steps to Create a Vision Board:
1) Brainstorm what you want to achieve and be specific so you can focus on it.
2) Either cut out images from magazines or create a digital board.
It doesn’t need to be complicated; it can start with just a few pictures that resonate with you.
The biggest mistake I see when wanting to create a vision board is:
Spending too much time and money looking for the perfect vision board, picture, or paper. These sit on the floor in your room as a reminder that you will start this project someday. You feel guilty for spending the money and overwhelmed at starting.
In some ways, this is a money block.
Forget all this and start.
Get a piece of simple paper; draw your vision; if it is a home on the water, draw it; if it is a family, do stick men; if it is a trip, draw a plane.
Then put it somewhere you can see it every day. If you want to get creative, great, but do this after. Just start your vision board now!

Visualization is creating a clear image of the outcome you want to achieve.
When you manifest, you use visualization when meditating, writing in your journal, or creating a vision board to bring things into reality.

Positive Energy
Manifesting is based on the belief in quantum physics and that everything in the universe is based on energy. By believing and shifting your energy to believe you already have what you want, you are in the energy field of the universe and using the law of attraction.

The law of attraction works on positive and negative energy, so you attract what you don’t want if you think negatively.

Trusting in the universe is about surrendering to the universe’s support and accepting that there is a force far more significant than you. We need to have faith and trust if we are to manifest our greatest potential and live fully.

When you start manifesting, you train your mind to release negative thought patterns, replace these with positive thoughts, and then act on these beliefs. So, it is a process, not a quick fix. However, it will change your life forever.

Be very clear about what you want, and every day, picture yourself having this and get into the feeling.
Does manifesting really work?
Manifesting is more than just sitting at home and wishing for something to happen.

So it doesn’t work to say, “I want to be rich,” but you sit at home and don’t take any steps.
You want to show the universe you are serious and ready to make this happen. Then, your energy and the universe work together, where a “higher power” creates exponential potential.
How do you know if your desire is manifesting?
Check where you were when you started and where you are after a set time frame.
For example, read your journal after a month to see how these limiting beliefs have less power over you.
Is manifestation bad?
Manifesting is a tool, so it isn’t bad or good. It is personal and can be seen as bad if you use manifesting to do harm.
Is there anything I shouldn’t say during manifestation?
You want to be clear on what you want and avoid confusing the universe.
Avoid using “don’t” because the subconscious works in pictures and doesn’t “see” the don’t. It will just picture what you don’t want and work towards that. For example, instead of saying, “I don’t want to be overweight,” replace it with “I want to be healthy.”
